2011 Tour:

The Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project 

28,835 artists from 94 countries around the world are participating in the Brooklyn Art Library Sketchbook Project, including me.  

The sketchbooks will tour the United States.  The topic I chose is "Dirigibles & Submersibles".

After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view. The tour starts March, 2011

About the Sketchbook.

I had to take the sketchbook apart & re-bind it after all of the painting was complete.  The sketchbook came with lightweight paper which would not support watercolors.  I learned how to do Japanese Stab Book Binding while working on my sketchbook.  Each pages measures 8" x 22" and has been folded accordian style to accommodate the size of the cover.

 . . . I chose "Dirigibles & Submersibles" because I enjoy painting underwater scenes.  Lately, I've been interested in drawing & painting bio-mechanical creatures so I figured I could explore this interest with the sketchbook project.  The dirigibles were fun to do & I loved doing the underwater scenes.  The project was interesting and thought provoking..
